This experiment is the activity AL 2.1 - Fractional Distillation of a mixture of three components of the Chemistry portuguese curriculum, 12th grade of secondary school (Unit 2 - Fuels, Energy and Environment).
The example proposed in the curriculum - mixture of acetone, methanol and water - should not be carried out in schools due to high hazards of methanol.
